Planned Parenthood Thanks Anti-Terri Voters

NewsMax.com is reporting...

On Thursday, March 24, the director of public affairs for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida sent an e-mail to advocates for the abortion operation telling them how to "express your appreciation" to Florida Republican senators who split with the GOP leadership by voting against a bill intended to save Terri Schiavo, according to David Bereit, national director of American Life League's STOPP International.

The message listed the names and contact information for the six senators.

"Apparently Planned Parenthood isn't content with killing 244,628 innocent children in the last year through abortion. Now the harmful organization is telling its advocates how to thank elected officials for voting against a measure aimed at saving the life of Terri Schiavo."

The only evidence in the 1,600 pages that suspended Mayor Dyer knew what Thomas was paid for comes from Loren Jones, according to the report.

Jones worked for Commissioner Betty Wyman's campaign, and last month told the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that he directly warned the Mayor that Thomas was collecting and forging citizen's absentee votes.

Check out this video of Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests For Life HERE Hat Tip to The Political Teen

Another Schindler adviser, the Rev. Frank Pavone, said Schiavo’s blood relatives were sent from her room just 10 or so minutes before she died because her condition was to be assessed and Michael Schiavo was going to visit.

“Bobby Schindler, her brother, said, ‘We want to be in the room when she dies,'" Pavone said. "Michael Schiavo said, ‘No, you cannot.’ So his heartless cruelty continues until this very last moment. This is not only a death, with all the sadness that brings, but this is a killing."

Jesse Jackson Gets No News MOJO In Supporting Terri?

Media Research Center’s Quick Take

NETWORKS UNIMPRESSED WITH THE LIBERAL REVEREND WHEN HE ARRIVES IN FLORIDA TO PUT A DEMOCRATIC FACE ON THE SIDE OF LIFE

For decades, the Rev. Jesse Jackson has been a magnet for liberal media coverage. But on the day the Reverend arrived in Florida to put a Democratic face on the side of Terri Schiavo’s parents pleading for her life, he seemed to lose his powers of attraction. CNN, MSNBC, and FNC all devoted portions of their prime-time shows Tuesday night to interviews with Jackson. He also appeared by phone on FNC’s Fox & Friends today. But the broadcast networks were much less interested.

- ABC’s World News Tonight suddenly found the entire Schiavo matter unnewsworthy. For the first time in more than ten days, the newscast had no Schiavo story and didn’t utter a syllable about Jackson — although Peter Jennings had time to highlight the latest press release from the American Civil Liberties Union attacking the military’s aggressive interrogation tactics. Jackson also went unmentioned on Wednesday’s Good Morning America. It’s ironic, since when a Jackson extramarital affair was reported in 2001, ABC’s Cokie Roberts mourned, "I do not want to have his voice silenced in public debate."

- CBS interim Evening News anchor Bob Schieffer gave Jackson 22 words: "In Florida today, the Reverend Jesse Jackson prayed with the parents of Terri Schiavo. Jackson said he favors restoring her feeding tube." Jackson was ignored on Wednesday’s edition of The Early Show — but it’s not because they’re uninterested in Jackson, just his current cause. The same CBS show interviewed him for three and a half minutes on Monday morning about his radio-show interview with Michael Jackson.

- NBC was the only network to air an evening news story that at least partially featured Jackson’s entry into the Schiavo debate. Mark Potter explained: "The Reverend Jesse Jackson was invited to the hospice by Terri Schiavo's parents and joined them in urging Schiavo's husband or Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to reinsert her feeding tube. But Michael Schiavo refused to allow Jackson to even visit with his wife." After a soundbite of Jackson asking for mercy, Potter turned to other developments. Jackson was not mentioned on Wednesday’s Today. (His trip to Florida was briefly noted Tuesday morning.) But his interview with Michael Jackson was featured in news stories on Sunday’s Nightly News and Monday’s Today.

Jesse Jackson Fails in Bid to Save Schiavo

NewsMax.com is reporting...

The Rev. Jesse Jackson admitted Wednesday afternoon that his efforts to persuade the Florida state Senate to vote on a new bill to save Terri Schiavo have failed.

"They are convinced that guardianship [of Terri] is in the hands of Michael [Schiavo] and the courts," Jackson told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity.

The civil rights leader also said his appeal may have come too late.

Speaking earlier in the day to reporters, both Jackson and Florida Senate President Tom Lee said that they didn't know of any senators who were willing to reverse themselves in a bid to save Terri.

Jackson's admission was in sharp contrast with his comments last night, when he told the Fox News Channel that four senators were now "flexible" on legislation to save the dying woman.

But the Florida Senate met on Wednesday without even discussing a new Schiavo bill, the Associated Press said.

"We pray for a miracle. We pray for a breakthrough," Jackson said after the defeat.

Ken Timmerman author of Shakedown joins me at 8AM ET Thursday to talk about Jesse Jackson's involvement in the Schiavo case. I'll ask him- "What's in it for Jesse?"

Jeb Bush is courting dereliction of duty by Alan Keyes

The Florida state constitution declares unequivocally that in the state of Florida "the supreme executive power shall be vested in a governor … ." The word supreme means highest in authority. There can be no executive authority in the state of Florida higher than the governor. No state law can create an executive authority higher than highest in the Florida constitution. Therefore no court order based upon such a law can constitutionally create such an authority.

If the governor tells the local police in Pinellas County to step aside, they must do so, or else be arrested and tried for an assault on the government of the state, which is to say insurrection.

(If Gov. Jeb Bush fears that for some reason they would question the authority of his representatives, then he should take the necessary law enforcement officials to Tampa in person, thus making the situation crystal clear.)

Since Florida's highest law grants him supreme executive power, the governor's action would be lawful. No one in the Florida judiciary can say otherwise, since the whole basis for the doctrine of judicial review (which they invoked when they refused to apply "Terri's law") is that any law at variance with the constitution is no law at all.

Gov. Bush has said that he recognizes the injustice being done to Terri Schiavo but is powerless to stop it. He is obviously not powerless, and his view of injustice is fully warranted.

The Florida state constitution declares: "All natural persons, female and male alike, are equal before the law and have inalienable rights, among which are the right to enjoy and defend life and liberty … ."

Terri's "Another Day in Paradise": The production piece opens with Terri following her doctor's orders to "open her eyes" - which she does and you hear the overt praise that two doctors both praise her with. Dr. William Hammesfahr - the Nobel Prize nominated brain injury specialist who examined Terri longer than any other doctor, AND Dr. Ron Cranford who testified on behalf of Michael Schiavo - both acknowledge that she is following their instructions and thus proving she is NOT in PVS.

Selective Restraint Liberals cheered when Janet Reno defied the courts to seize Elian Gonzalez.

John Fund of WSJ...

The sad case of Terri Schiavo has raised passions not seen since five years ago. Then another bitterly divided family argued in Florida courts over someone who couldn't speak on his own behalf: Elian Gonzalez.

In both cases, those who were unhappy with the courts' decisions strained to assert the federal government's power to produce a different outcome. The difference is that in Mrs. Schiavo's case, Congress backed off after passing a bill that merely asked a federal court to hear the case from scratch, something that U.S. District Judge James Whittemore declined to do. By contrast, those who wanted the federal government to intervene in Elian Gonzalez's case went all the way, supporting a predawn armed federal raid on the morning before Easter to seize the 6-year-old boy despite a federal appeals court's refusal to order his surrender. 18th-century Irish philosopher Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for evil to flourish is for good [people] to do nothing.”

Governor Bush says he can't help
Earlier Sunday, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said there is nothing he can do to save Terri Schiavo's life.

"I cannot violate a court order," Bush said after attending Easter Sunday church services. "I don't have powers from the United States Constitution -- or for that matter from the Florida Constitution -- that would allow me to intervene after a decision has been made.

"I'm sad that she's in the situation that she's in," Bush said, commenting publicly on the case for the first time since Thursday. "I feel bad for her family. My heart goes out to the Schindlers and, for that matter, to [her husband] Michael [Schiavo]," Bush said. "This has not been an easy thing for any, any member of the family. But most particularly for Terri Schiavo."

To Terri Schiavo's parents -- who have said Bush should do more to help their daughter -- the governor said: "I can't. I'd love to, but I can't."

The governor has been under public pressure from the Schindlers and many religious groups to intervene further.

Perhaps the most pathetic sight in the Schiavo saga is a neutered Jeb Bush unwilling to do what is right. How sad!

He is risen!

Gospel
Luke 24: 13-35

On the first day of the week,
Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning,
while it was still dark,
and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
So she ran and went to Simon Peter
and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them,
"They have taken the Lord from the tomb,
and we don't know where they put him."
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.
They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter
and arrived at the tomb first;
he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
When Simon Peter arrived after him,
he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head,
not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
Then the other disciple also went in,
the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.
For they did not yet understand the Scripture
that he had to rise from the dead.

Proof that Terri is not PVS

Check out Kevin McCullough's excellent column at WND.

You see, one of the definitions of someone who is PVS is that they cannot swallow. A "liquified cortex" would prevent someone from being able to swallow the saliva that they produce. Doctors will testify that the average human can produce up to two liters of saliva a day.

But with Terri ... it's not. It's missing. It's just not there.

Her chin, lips, corners of her mouth, neck and face are never slimy. How is this possible?

I admit I'm not a Nobel Prize nominated brain-injury expert. Luckily for Terri, Dr. Hammesfahr is. And he testified that she is swallowing, and as such is not PVS, and as such should be allowed to live.

Terri Bleeding From Eyes and Mouth

Contrary to predictions that Terri Schiavo's starvation death would be painless and dignified, an eyewitness who visited her hospice room early Saturday morning reports that she is now bleeding from the eyes and mouth. Click HERE to read the rest.

Two visions of Terri Schiavo emerged Saturday: Her husband's attorney, George Felos, said he had "never seen such a look of beauty and peace upon her." Schiavo's father, Robert Schindler, whose family has compared her complexion to that of a concentration camp victim, said "she is fighting like hell to stay alive."

This quote is quite relevant to Terri's plight.

“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.” -Martin Niemoeller

Niemoeller is best known for his powerful statement about the failure of Germans to speak out against the Nazis.

Governor Bush forced to abandon Schiavo rescue

From; Atty. Jack Thompson
As already noted yesterday, Governor Bush blew it. I didn't know just how badly. Get a load of this excerpt from the below extraordinary story! Also, please note that evangelical leader Rev. D. James Kennedy has called upon Bush to seize Schiavo despite the court order. Bush is in deep doo-doo (his dad's term) for his cowardice. He's now under extreme scrutiny by his right-wing religious base.
George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, said he does not think DCF officials knew of the window of opportunity they had created until well after they filed their appeal.

''Frankly, I don't believe when they filed their notice of appeal they realized that that gave them an automatic stay,'' Felos said. ``When we filed our motion to vacate the automatic stay . . .

Jeb Bush had time during this stay to seize Shciavo and reinsert the tube.

Law agencies controlled by Florida Governor Jeb Bush, the brother of US President George Bush, were on their way to seize Terri Schiavo and have her feeding tube reinserted.

But they backed off when local police said they would enforce a judge's ruling allowing the brain-damaged women to die, The Miami Herald has revealed.

Soon after a judge ordered that Mrs Schiavo not be removed from a hospice, a team of Florida state law enforcement agents planned to rescue her on the orders of Mr Bush, the paper said.

But they did not go ahead after it became clear they would have to confront local police outside the Florida hospice that has become a flashpoint in the worldwide debate on euthanasia. To read the rest click HERE.

George & Jeb Bush have the legal power and authority to save Terri

On Good Friday, March 25, 2005, four legal experts joined forces to lay out a legal strategy to urge the President of the United States and the Governor of Florida to take action and save the life of Terri Schiavo.

Listen to interview with Dr.'s Steven Krason and Brian Scarnecchia HERE.

Documents Conveying the Legal Authority of the Executive Branch to Save Terri Schiavo Through Direct Intervention.

The documents listed in the two links below were sent to Governor Jeb Bush in an attempt to assure him that he was well within his constitutional authority to act on behalf of Terri Schiavo. The first is a letter of introduction to the second, which is a chapter from Dr. Steve Krason's Book, "The Public Order and the Sacred Order." Both spell out clearly that both the President of the United States and the Governor of Florida are well within their authority to act on behalf of terri Schiavo to save her life.

Letter of Introduction

Chapter 37 - The Public Order and the Sacred Order

FYI Noted legal and constitutional scholar, Johnathan Turley, a frequent guest on the Fox News Channel and other news outlets, today stated that it was nonsensical for Jeb Bush to have asked for court approval to have the State of Florida take custody of Terri Schiavo when in fact he had the authority to do that himself as Governor. Bush, as the head of the executive branch, could do that unilaterally.

THE FBI today rejected claims purportedly from two Islamic extremist groups of responsibility for an oil refinery explosion in Texas

"We've been getting calls about some emails circulating apparently from people claiming responsibility for the explosion," Al Tribble, a spokesman for the FBI office in Houston, said.
"We've found no evidence to support criminal or terrorist activity," he said.

The FBI was treating the blast at the BP refinery in Texas City, south of Houston, as an accident.

Great bit of police work. I haven't seen anything solved this quickly since the Park Police wrapped up the Vince Foster suicide.

Pat O'Brien's Dirty Voice Mail Messages

Looks like the Insider has been spending a little too much time inside the liquor store.

Things just keep getting worse for Pat O'Brien. On Sunday he issued this statement to the Associated Press and checked into rehab:

"I have had a problem with alcohol. I have decided to take action by checking myself into an intensive recovery program. Overcoming this problem is a top priority in my life, and I am excited to return to work as soon as I am able."
Everyone was wondering what prompted O'Brien to do this until this morning. A string of dirty voice mails where O'Brien expresses his desires for cocaine, hookers, and wild sex have been leaked all over the internet. It's clearly his distintive voice in the voice mails and his reps do not deny that O'Brien made the calls.

What a class act!

Mass Distortion Media, biased polls are giving America a warped view of Terri’s plight.

Mass Distortion
Media, biased polls are giving America a warped view of Terri’s plight.

By Robert Knight

Last Sunday, two days after Terri Schiavo’s water and food were cut off, 501 Americans were told by an ABC News Poll that Terri “has been on life support for 15 years,” and that “doctors say she has no consciousness and her condition is irreversible.”

Then they were asked: “Do you support or oppose the decision to remove Schiavo’s feeding tube?”

Not surprisingly, given the inaccurate picture conjured of a coma victim hooked up to multiple machines to sustain what amounts to a living corpse, 63 percent supported Michael Schiavo’s intent to kill his wife by slow starvation. Only 28 percent opposed it, and 9 percent were not sure.

Some 70 percent also said they disagreed with Congress’ intervention. That soon became widely confused as 70 percent of Americans applauding Terri’s starvation.

The ABC Poll was quickly echoed throughout the media, on broadcast networks and in major newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post. Word grew on Capitol Hill, where Republicans were rushing to enact legislation to protect Terri’s right to a federal court hearing, that the American people were not with them. The figures also were noted in Tallahassee, where the Republican-controlled Senate refused to approve a bill to reinstate Terri’s food and water while legal issues were being fought.

On March 22, WorldNetDaily revealed the poll’s miswording.

In a subsequent poll on March 22 by CNN/USA Gallup, in which Terri was still described as “in a persistent vegetative state who was being kept alive through the use of a feeding tube,” the number of those supporting the kill order dropped to 52 percent. Was word getting out, at last, that Terri is not a “vegetable”?

Leave aside, for a moment, the fact that 33 physicians have filed affidavits disagreeing with the diagnosis of a “permanent vegetative state,” and that there is ample testimony from Terri’s parents, siblings, nurses and others that she is responsive, emotional, and by no means a “vegetable.” These should clearly be grounds enough to support doubt and halt this grisly execution. Convicted killers are spared with far less doubt.

But the case has been surrounded by so many lies and distortions, many politicians are running scared of the polls.

Here is more evidence that America is being manipulated into accepting what amounts to a public execution of an innocent woman whose parents are begging for her life.

A majority of media coverage has centered on claims by Michael Schiavo, Terri’s adulterous husband, who says she told him she wanted this. By contrast, Terri’s parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, who are willing to care for her and take on all expenses, garner far less airtime and print. The Media Research Center reports that of 31 reports on major networks between March 17 to March 21, 60 percent concentrated on Michael Schiavo’s claims and 40 percent featured the Schindlers’ case.

No poll has been taken to ask these questions:

Are you aware that Michael Schiavo is living with another woman, has sired two children by her, and admitted melting down his wife’s wedding ring to make jewelry for himself?

Did you know that Michael Schiavo never mentioned any alleged statement by Terri that she did not want to be kept alive this way until years later, when a settlement was reached in a malpractice lawsuit awarding him more than $1 million for Terri’s rehabilitation, and around the time he moved in with the other woman?

Did you know that the description of Terri being in a “persistent vegetative state” is disputed by more than 30 physicians, including a neurologist from the Mayo Clinic?

Did you know that Carla Iyer, a nurse who cared for Terri in the mid-’90s, filed an affidavit (available at www.terrisfight.net) saying that Michael openly pined for Terri’s death, prohibited the nurses from providing even the smallest comfort, such as a cool washcloth, apparently tampered with Terri’s charts showing any rehabilitative progress, and reportedly asked, “When is that b---ch going to die?”

On another level, the media are working strenuously to persuade us that starving to death is actually a pleasant experience. Here’s how the Los Angeles Times’ “Body in decline” graphic (March 23) describes it, accompanied by a healthy-appearing body: “Experts say dehydration and starvation in the terminally ill are painless.” The text next to the brain in the picture reads: “Compounds produced by the body create a sense of euphoria.”

First, Terri is not terminally ill. She is not dying. She is being killed by starvation. Second, if such patients do not feel anything, how can they feel euphoria?

Doctors such as David Stevens, president of the Christian Medical Association, who has practiced medicine in Africa (where dehydration, sadly, is quite common), sharply dispute the notion that starving to death is not painful.

Dr. Stevens notes in a press release, "As dehydration begins, there is extreme thirst, dry mouth and thick saliva. The patient becomes dizzy, faint and unable to stand or sit; has severe cramping in the arms and legs as the sodium and potassium concentrations in the body go up as fluids go down.

"In misery, the patient tries to cry but there are no tears. The patient experiences severe abdominal cramps, nausea and dry-heaving as the stomach and intestines dry out.

"By now the skin and lips are cracking and the tongue is swollen. The nose may bleed as the mucous membranes dry out and break down. The skin loses elasticity, thins and wrinkles. The hands and feet become cold as the remaining fluids in the circulatory system are shunted to the vital organs in an attempt to stay alive. The person stops urinating and has severe headaches as their brain shrinks from lack of fluids. The patient becomes anxious but then gets progressively more lethargic.

"Some patients have hallucinations and seizures as their body chemistry becomes even more imbalanced. This proceeds to coma before death occurs. The final event as the blood pressure becomes almost undetectable is a major heart arrhythmia that stops the heart from pumping.

"Contrary to those that try to paint a picture of a gentle process, death by dehydration is a cruel, inhumane and often agonizing death."

Whether the media pick up on this sobering reality check is anybody’s guess. Given the previous coverage, it will probably take Divine intervention and a profound change of heart. Let’s pray that this happens.

Schiavo Not Likely in Vegetative State, Would Die Painful Death

"Today a Mayo Clinic neurologist indicated that previous assertions that Terri Schiavo is in a Persistent Vegetative State (PVS) are incorrect. I, like many Americans who have seen the videos of her interacting with her parents, also question the PVS diagnosis. In fact, I question the validity of the concept of Persistent Vegetative State diagnosis. It is pejorative because it labels a person as being a vegetable--taking away their humanity. It is also impossible to establish this diagnosis. Some patients who have come out of PVS have stated that their mind was in a prison but they knew what was going on around them."

Dr. Stevens also addressed the pain of dying from starvation.

"Is dying of thirst and dehydration a painless death as some experts have asserted? Most so-called experts have never seen someone die in this manner. Unfortunately, having worked for 13 years in Africa, where the most common cause of death in children is dehydration from gastroenteritis, I have seen hundreds if not thousands of patients with dehydration and some of them so far gone, that despite resuscitation attempts, they died."

Dr. Stevens explained, "As dehydration begins, there is extreme thirst, dry mouth and thick saliva. The patient becomes dizzy, faint and unable to stand or sit; has severe cramping in the arms and legs as the sodium and potassium concentrations in the body goes up as fluids go down. In misery, the patient tries to cry but there are no tears. The patient experiences severe abdominal cramps, nausea and dry-heaving as the stomach and intestines dry out.

Terri is feeling no pain as she starves? Oh really?

Over at GalleySlaves is a piece that debunks the certainty that Terri is feeling no pain as she starves.

Hat tip to Hugh Hewitt.

Red Lake School Shooter Probably Trained for Maassacre on Specific Video Games

Jeff Weise, the 17-year-old who massacred ten in Red Lake, Minnesota, was a video gamer who may have trained on the violent games to kill. The clues:

Weise called himself “The Angel of Death,” which is the name of a violent, computer-based game.

Weise asked one of his victims, according to student Reggie Graves, “Do you believe in God?” Then he shot him. Belief in God determines whom you target in the aforementioned strategy game.

After Columbine, the FBI and the Secret Service determined that the one common denominator in all of the school shootings studied up to that point, including Columbine, was the perpetrators’ immersion in violent entertainment.

Weise’s detailed planning of the killings is a clear marker for entertainment training for the event. Invariably games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Vice City help the perpetrator develop killing scenarios and strategies. The killing of the school security guard indicates this.

Further, the randomness of the targets, not based upon any specified enmity against specific students is a clear marker of video game inspiration and training to kill. The aim of the violent games is simply to increase the body count. The identities of the victims are meaningless.

Finally, an editor with the local Bemidji newspaper, The Pioneer, has told Jack Thompson, an attorney in Miami, Florida, who is an expert in school shootings, that Weise was known to be a video gamer. Thompson has already spoken with an FBI Agent on the scene in Bemidji to share with him this information.

**Startlingly, Weise pulled up to his school in his grandfather's squad car. Stealing police car is something you can do and are encouraged to do in all the Grand Theft Auto games.**

Psychiatric Expert Witness profiles Michael Schiavo

In response to several reader's emails asking if a psychiatrist had ever profiled Michael Schiavo's demeaner or possible psychiatric problems, I offer the following 2004 expert witness testimony. Mindful that this is an expert witness in behalf of the Schindler's position and therefore prejudicial to Michael's case. However, according to Dr. Lieberman's testimony, Michael's own psychiatrist warned the Schindlers to call the police.

--- "Michael has been under psychiatric care, including being prescribed several psychotropic medications. One of his treating therapists, Dr. Peter Kaplan, told Terri’s father that he should have called the police after Michael argued with Terri’s sister, Susanne, and Michael tried to attack her. This occurred right after Terri’s collapse, when they were all in a house together. Terri’s father told Susanne to lock her door and keep a hammer nearby."

--- "Michael fits the profile of an abusive husband. He should most definitely be investigated as the perpetrator of the ‘incident’ that caused Terri’s collapse and her current condition."

Preliminary Thoughts On How Terri Schiavo's Husband, Michael, Fits The Profile Of A Wife Abuser.

Based upon my interviews of Terri’s father, Robert Schindler, and my research into media accounts of her case, I can provide the following preliminary opinions at this time:

--As the author of the book, Bad Boys: Why We Love Them, How to Live with Them and When to Leave Them, I have studied men who exhibit pathology in their relationships with women. Profiles of the twelve different types of bad boys are explained. Michael Schiavo fits the profile, described in the book as the Prince of Darkness (see chapter 13). O.J. Simpson was cited as a classic example of this type, and there are indeed similarities between the two men. It is especially significant to note that O.J. flew into a homicidal rage when he realized that Nicole was totally abandoning him, as is characteristic of these impulsive men who most dread being abandoned by their woman. Similarly, Michael Schiavo was likely to have known that Terri had begun making plans to divorce him, since she had told a coworker and family member. Stalking is characteristic of this type of man, as well. And a girlfriend of Michael’s, Cindy, accused him of stalking her in 2001.

--Terri’s personality fits that of a woman who would have been attracted (and attractive) to such a man. She was a loner as a child. In high school she was overweight and not popular with boys. She had low self-esteem. She was extremely compassionate, nurturing and subservient. They met when Terri was 20 years old, and married by the time she was 21. Such whirlwind courtships are typical of these men, who are able to spot a vulnerable woman they can dominate, and eager to seal her commitment to him.

Terri was frightened to object to Michael’s pathologically controlling behavior. For example, he would monitor her odometer to control where she went. He tried to isolate her from her friends and family. She had to account for every penny, though they often lived on her income, since he would be fired, sometimes only after two weeks. He would splurge on $400 suits for himself, while she had to economize. He called her at work 3-4 times a day, often complaining of hating his job because no one appreciated him. He was often observed scolding her.

--Terri’s family observed black and blue marks on her before the incident that plunged her into her current state. Medical records and/or experts have revealed that her neck injury was consistent with strangulation. A bone scan revealed multiple fractures occurring within 1-2 months before or after the incident, which has been described as equivalent to her being “hit by a mack truck”. Michael has given three different explanations of how he found Terri after the incident.

--Michael has had Terri’s jewelry re-set into a ring for himself. Terri had two beloved cats that she adopted from an animal shelter, where they’d landed after being mistreated. When he moved in with his girlfriend, Cindy, he had Terri’s cats euthanized. Psychologically, this is symbolic of what he is tryingto do now to Terri.

--Michael has been under psychiatric care, including being prescribed several psychotropic medications. One of his treating therapists, Dr. Peter Kaplan, told Terri’s father that he should have called the police after Michael argued with Terri’s sister, Susanne, and Michael tried to attack her. This occurred right after Terri’s collapse, when they were all in a house together. Terri’s father told Susanne to lock her door and keep a hammer nearby.

--As a psychiatric expert witness, I have had experience performing psychiatric examinations of men like Michael Schiavo, and testifying in court about similar cases. The above is simply meant to illustrate some of the indications that Michael fits the profile of an abusive husband. He should most definitely be investigated as the perpetrator of the ‘incident’ that caused Terri’s collapse and her current condition. If Terri were to be allowed to die, as Michael has been desperately struggling to achieve for years, it could help him escape detection. This would be a grave miscarriage of justice.

Dr. Lieberman will be my guest Wednesday morning at 8:30AM ET. .

News Coverage Favors Those Who Would Stop Feeding Disabled Woman

Media Research Center’s Media Reality Check

ABC, CBS and NBC Evening News Coverage Favors Those Who Would Stop Feeding Disabled Woman

Slanting the News Against Terri Schiavo

A new Media Research Center study finds the three broadcast network evening newscasts have tilted their recent coverage of the Terri Schiavo case in ways that bolster her husband Michael’s arguments that the severely disabled woman is in an irreversible vegetative state and had clearly expressed a desire to die. But network reporters have attempted to debunk arguments made by her parents — namely that some doctors believe she could be helped and that Mrs. Schiavo, a Catholic, would not want her feeding tube disconnected.

MRC analysts looked at all 31 evening news stories aired from Thursday, March 17, when the impending removal of Mrs. Schiavo’s feeding tube put her case back in the news, through Monday, March 21. The researchers looked at both weekday and weekend newscasts, although CBS’s weekend coverage was pre-empted in Eastern time zones to show college basketball.

Condemning Congressional Activism: A majority of soundbites (59%) repudiated Congress for acting to permit Mrs. Schiavo’s parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, to bring their case to a federal court before their daughter starves to death. Nearly all of the supportive comments came from members of Congress such as Rep. Tom DeLay, who was shown on ABC’s World News Tonight on Saturday: "We’re expediting this as fast as we can do it, so that we can get that feeding tube back into her and keep her alive until she’s had her day in court."

But the condemnations of Congress did not just come from Michael Schiavo and Democrats; some reporters joined in the castigations. "Whatever your beliefs," ABC’s Jake Tapper commented on Friday, "Terri Schiavo and her family deserved better than the way Congress worked this week." On Monday’s CBS Evening News, reporter Elizabeth Kaledin argued that "this is exactly the kind of scenario doctors are worried about. It’s sad enough that this case had to play out in the courts, but to get politics involved now, I think they would say, is just bad medicine."

Rejecting the Schindlers’ Case: Three-fifths (60%) of soundbites (including reporter comments) presented Michael Schiavo’s case that Terry Schiavo should die, compared with just two-fifths offering the counter-arguments of her parents. Not a single story was devoted to a skeptical look at Schiavo and whether he was acting in his wife’s best interests, but all three networks ran stories rejecting Mr. and Mrs. Schindler’s view that their daughter could possibly be helped.

On Friday, a few hours after Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube was removed, ABC’s Peter Jennings dismissed one of the Schindlers’ worries: "They also say that she will die a painful death, though there does not seem to be any support for that argument in the medical community." On Monday’s World News Tonight, reporter Jake Tapper rejected the value of videotapes showing Terri Schiavo apparently responding: "In some ways, these tapes are like psychological inkblot tests. You see in them what you want." Then ABC’s Dr. Tim Johnson summarized that "the conventional wisdom, by experts in this field, is that after five years in a persistent vegetative state, there is virtually no chance for recovery." NBC showed Dr. Robert Cranford, who has examined Mrs. Schiavo. He said that in spite of how she appears on videotape, "she’s as unconscious as someone who is dead."

None of the broadcast network stories showed even one dissenting expert. But FNC’s Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes on Monday interviewed Dr. William Hammesfahr, a neurologist who spent 10 hours observing Terri Schiavo. Hammesfahr said she is "completely aware and conscious and responsive...like a child with cerebral palsy." Is Hammesfahr offering false hope, or did the networks stack the deck against Terri Schiavo?

JUDGE WHITTEMORE DENIES TERRI

NEWSMAX is reporting...

A federal judge ruled early Tuesday morning that a disabled Florida woman cannot have her feeding tube reinstalled.

Denying the request of Terri Schiavo's parents Robert and Mary Shindler, Judge James Whittemore's ruling means that Terri Schiavo will starve to death in a week to ten days unless congressional subpoenas issued on Friday are enforced or appeals are granted by higher courts.

This Judge just signed Terri's death warrant and sealed her fate!

Listeners weigh in...

Pat,

I agree that there is "reasonable doubt" in the Terri Schiavo's case, which began from Judge Greer to our Florida Supreme Court to the U.S. Supreme Court refusing to hear Terri's case.
Although, the general public's bias, ignorance regarding the disabled is appalling. As I am categorized legally blind/ though technically I am sight impaired/low vision. So, keep in mind, there are degrees of functional disability.

Finally, God, would not give us what we can not handle.

Dale,

Avid Listener!!!
**********************************************************************************
My condolences to every member of life loving society that is grieving at this moment over the injustices that has been brought upon Terri Schiavo. My heart is so burdened by not only this outrageous decision (or lack there of) by this so called federal judge (where is his wisdom of Solomon ?) but also our society as a whole that has the majority of people who believe in selective life..........abortions of innocent babies are accepted because they are perceived to be a burden as well as disabled people who should not be allowed to live because of the 'quality of life' that we have become experts in determining. We, who cannot create anything from nothing, have decided we are the supreme judges of what is life. We, who have made breakthrough discoveries and proclaim to the world of our abilities to clone life.......have decided that we can chose who is worthy of our society. God, in his wisdom, has given us the knowledge to open up the mysteries of life, has given us talented doctors and scientists who can now cure diseases such as polio, and TB and numerous other life takers, who have added years to our lives through technology, but who scoff at the possibility that a severely brain damaged person could possibly be a BLESSING to someone in this world.....maybe an inspiration to others in their infirmary.......well, unless it is a Christopher Reeves, or a Stephen Hawkins, who sayTHEYshould have life because they have intelligence. I believe only GOD knows who has intelligence and we might be surprised at what God really considers to be of more importance, intelligence or the soul of mankind. Remember, in Proverbs, God speaks about confounding those who think they so full of themselves because of their intelligence. God will not judge us by 'intelligence', but by our souls........
I believe that God can use us all to be a blessing, and Terri who is obviously a 'burden' to her husband, is ironically a blessing to her family. Sadly though, the courts do not believe in blessings.....they do not believe in giving life or human rights to the disadvantaged unless you are a convicted murder or a manatee or any of the thousands of protected insects and plants.
I am so sick of all the pseudo intellects of this world including half of my neighbors, fellow employees, and even some relatives that have reached the conclusion that life is not good unless we 'have it all'. Michael Schiavo will meet his maker, of this I am confident, and I dont necessarily mean GOD.
Sorry, Pat, needed to vent.

Good morning Pat,

I just awoke. I heard Terri took another hit in court. I am not sure if anyone has addressed this: Why is Terri required, by law, to produce a piece of paper to prove she wants to live, but word of mouth is all which is required to kill her? Didn't the NSP prior to WW II perform "euthanasia"?
Great show.
Prayers for the defenseless. Eric in Deltona.

Pat,
Get a grip on your emotions. Allow callers who disagree the chance to speak. Get from behind the bully pulpit and listen to other's views.
************************************************************************************
Pat,
I don't know if this has been brought up before, but Terri produces saliva and unless she could swallow, she would choke when it went down her throat. I don't believe they have been using the apparatus that is used during dental procedures to remove the extra saliva. Would love to hear your comments on this.

Pat,

There is a special place in hell for everyone who has a part in killing this young woman. I'm so saddened by this recent news of the judge refusing to reinsert her feeding tube. All we can do is pray, Pat.

Pat,
Have you heard of Joni Eareckson Tada? She has been paralyzed from the shoulders down for more than 30 years. She broke her neck by diving in too shallow of water at a beach. She is well known in the Christian circle and has a web site, http://www.joniandfriends.org/. You should get her to talk on your show!

Sincerely,

Jack

Pat,

I have wanted to call you but with work have no chance. The problem I have with this whole thing is that Terri is not brain dead. If she was, her brain would not be able to communicate with her organs to function. All she needs is to be fed. We would not leave a baby there to starve to death. A baby can not feed itself and someone who does not feed their baby would be arrested. That is the condition Terri is in now. She is a baby and needs help. I know with therapy she could get better. My brother in law was in a severe car accident Nov 2002. The doctor said he only had 2% chance to living. He was in a coma for 6 months. When he woke up he was in the state that Terri is in. We never gave up on him. Now after two years of therapy he is able to walk, talk, eat, and has started classes in college. Because of our love and therapy he was able to improve. He had to learn everything over but it can be done.

There is no reason that Terri can't do the same. Her husband had all this time to help her and he has done nothing. He doesn't love her. If he did he would not be living with another woman. You are to stand beside your spouse through all. In my opinion, All this is is Murder!!

Thanks for you time Pat

Andrew
************************************************************************************
Hi Pat, I've been following this case both on your morning show and in the tv and newspapers. Removing her feed tube is nothing less than court approved murder as I see it. Her heart is pumping, she can breathe on her own so she certainly can't be brain dead. The saddest thing is she is as much a victim of a political circus as a victim of her husband's wanting to be rid of her. If he really cared for her, he'd have turned her care and maintainence over to her parents long ago and got on with his own life instead of wanting to play God and end her life. God alone is the author of life and death. It's long past time to leave things in His almighty hands. Admittedly none of us would want to live like she is living but the physical and mental state we are to live in is not always our personal choice. Pat, keep up the good work of keeping us aware of all that is going on and of confronting us with our own standards as we weigh these important issues. Colleen
************************************************************************************
Pat
I just thought of something. The Nazis wern't killing anybody, the people in the concentration camps died peacfully with out pain. They just went to sleep because of no food or water. Eating and breathing and drinking are primative instincts that are hard wired into our natural wanting to survive. Why don't the libs have the (Balls) to take Terri out now. Why the wait. If she hangs on for more than 2 weeks there will be hell to pay. Just wait and see. This case has will seal the Democrats demise.

Thanks Archie

Here is Deacon Keith's poignant piece, written earlier today.
The Rule of Law they cried...while Terri Died
By Deacon Keith Fournier

The eyes of the world watched,
As one more judge ruled for death over life

The Rule of Law they cried...while Terri Died

Who is this one who cannot speak?
She is a vegetable, of no use in this world of power and utility

The Rule of Law they cried...while Terri Died

Forget the smile; it has no productive value, disregard the mothers'
plea, misguided sentiment

The Rule of Law they cried...while Terri Died

The one on the bench, the blind guide leading the blind, has the
power now in this brave new world unanchored from truth; his word
is the sword

The Rule of Law they cried...while Terri Died

All this talk of religion and solidarity be damned,
let the one who cast the bride aside decide
The Rule of Law they cried...while Terri Died

The triumph of the Will ascends, the meek and the weak shudder,
the reign of lawlessness begins

The Rule of Law they cried...while Terri Died

Hi Pat,

I heard on your show this morning two things very disturbing to me:

1)Terri can swallow her own saliva yet her parents are ordered not to even try feeding her by mouth? What happened to discontinuing “life support” tubes? This has turned in to plain and simple murder of a handicapped woman.

2) Michael says on Larry King that “he didn’t know what Terri wanted but that this is what “we” want.” Who is “we” and why isn’t this all over the place? He spilled his beans.

My heart is aching for Terri and her family. The family needs to go on every station possible and tell everyone that they aren’t even allowed to TRY and feed her. I had no idea and I was appalled.

U.S. Judge in Schiavo Case Withholds Ruling on Feeding Tube

Bloomberg is reporting -- A federal judge declined for now to order a feeding tube reinserted in Terri Schiavo, the brain- damaged Florida woman who has been in a vegetative state for 15 years.

U.S. District Judge James Whittemore, after hearing arguments for about two hours in Tampa, gave no indication of how soon he may act on a request by Schiavo's parents to order the tube inserted.

``I will not tell you when, how or how long it will take,'' Whittemore said.

Today's hearing was prompted by an extraordinary post- midnight session of Congress aimed at authorizing the federal courts to intercede. President George W. Bush signed the measure early today.

This is unconscionable, Terri's starving to death and this clown goes home to have a steak and think things over.

Give him enough rope and he'll hang himself.

CNN Transcript of Michael Schiavo on Larry King Live

Huge Admission By Micheal Schiavo on Larry King

Wait, Did I Just Say That Out Loud?

KING: Have you had any contact with the family today? This is a sad day all the way around, Michael. We know of your dispute.

M. SCHIAVO: I've had no contact with them.

KING: No contact at all?

M. SCHIAVO: No.

KING: Do you understand how they feel?

M. SCHIAVO: Yes, I do. But this is not about them, it's about Terri. And I've also said that in court. We didn't know what Terri wanted, but this is what we want...

Thanks to Nick Queen for the heads-up on this one.

Freudian slip? Guilty conscience? Michael Schiavo admitted that he really doesn't know what his wife wanted, yet he is pursuing having her starved to death with the blessings of a court!

Congress set for late-night Schiavo debate Parents hope bill will force return of daughter's feeding tube

WASHINGTON - The Senate passed a bill that could prolong Terri Schiavo’s life while House Republicans, stalled by Democrats, scrambled to bring enough lawmakers back to the Capitol for an emergency vote early Monday.

PETA continues it's rapid descent into madness

These lunatics equate meat eating with child abuse.

Youngstown, Ohio — In response to a startling report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that obesity is poised to overtake smoking as the leading cause of death in the United States, PETA is launching a massive anti-obesity campaign by placing billboards in cities throughout the country, including Youngstown.

The billboard, which is located on Express and South Avenue Loop, shows a pudgy-faced kid about to scarf down a hamburger, with the tagline "Feeding Kids Meat Is Child Abuse. Fight the Fat, GoVeg.com." PETA aims to remind residents of Youngstown that the consumption of animal products is linked to life-threatening diseases.

An estimated 64 percent of Americans are overweight or obese, a situation that led to 400,000 deaths in 2003, according to the CDC report. Disappointingly, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services played down the threat of obesity and its underlying causes by saying that no major lifestyle changes are necessary to fight obesity and suggesting that overweight people start taking walks.

Why is feeding kids meat child abuse? Our national addiction to meat is bad enough for adults, but it is even worse for kids and is making them fat and sick. In addition to suffering from the social difficulties of childhood obesity, which can cause lifelong psychological trauma, children fed a diet of saturated fat- and cholesterol-laden burgers, nuggets, and hot dogs show symptoms of heart disease by the time they reach first grade.

"The damage from a meat-based diet is like a ticking time bomb in kids," says PETA’s vegan campaign director Bruce Friedrich. "Vegetarian kids are slimmer, have more energy, get better grades, and are all-around better off than their meat-eating peers."

Greer Quits His Church Because They Criticized His Rulings

Hat tip to irrevocablechoice.blogspot.com

According to this article, Greer, the judge who imposed a harsh death sentence on Terri Schiavo, which in my opinion, violates the 8th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (forbidding cruel and unusual punishment), quit his church because he didn't like the contents of an official publication of the Florida Baptist Church which criticized his rulings. But wait, this article calls him a "church regular." If Greer is so "religious," why not take the time to understand why his rulings were being criticized? Why not have some dialogue with the author of the criticism? Why not be open to the fact that some may have serious problems with his death sentence for Terri Schiavo? Does Greer know it all? In my opinion, his decision to quit his church because a church publication spoke up for God's laws says a lot.

Speculation on my part. I think law enforcement refers to it as "destroying evidence"

"Outside of execution, guardianship is the most radical remedy we have." — Elias Cohen, Philadelphia Attorney and Gerontologist

Is Pinellas County using guardianship as a cover for robbing the handicapped and elderly?

If you had found a way to steal thousands of dollars from wealthy elderly, where would you find the most victims? Yes, Florida is the first state that comes to my mind.

I never bought into the “right to die” thing. It is as much spin as the term “reproductive rights” is for abortion. "Right to die" is spin, but spin for what? While I know evil exists and admit I can’t understand the rational of being in favor of killing people; I felt there just had to be more than a pro-death “belief.” I think I found what is behind this “belief.” It isn’t about death with dignity. I think you will be shocked and horrified at what I found.

Judge Orders Schiavo Feeding Tube Removed

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - The presiding judge in the case of Terri Schiavo ruled Friday that the feeding tube keeping the brain-damaged woman alive must be removed, despite efforts by congressional Republicans to block the move by seeking her appearance at hearings.

Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer refused a request from U.S. House attorneys to delay the removal, which he had previously ordered to take place at 1 p.m. EST. Greer determined that it should go forward about an hour after another judge issued a temporary delay blocking the tube's removal.

"I have had no cogent reason why the (congressional) committee should intervene," Greer told attorneys in a conference call, adding that last-minute action by Congress does not invalidate years of court rulings.

Terri Schiavo to testify before congressional committee

**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.

Members of Congress went to the U.S. Attorney in DC to ask for a temporary restraining order to be issued by a judge, which protects Terri Schiavo from having her life support, including her feeding and hydration tubes, removed... Developing...

Senate Democrats nix bill to save Schiavo

Senate Democrats, including Ron Wyden of Oregon, a right-to-die state, have declined to pass by unanimous consent a version of a bill the House passed yesterday to save Terri Schiavo. For her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, that leaves only slim possibilities for help at the federal level, including:

1) The Senate could take up the House version of the bill, pass it, and send it on to the president. This seems unlikely though, since it was noted during Senate floor debate today that many Dems find the House bill "unacceptable."

2) The Senate could pass what is known as a "private relief bill," a federal law designed to help a single individual. Senator Frist raised this possibility during today's debate, but the Senate would have to hurry: The House would also have to approve such a bill and after tomorrow, it recesses for two weeks.

Florida Senate rejects Terri bill

WND reporting...
Florida's state House passed a bill today to keep Terri Schiavo alive, but the Senate later defeated a similar measure, casting doubt on a possible compromise one day before the brain-damaged woman's life-sustaining feeding tube is to be removed by court order.

Not good! We are running out of options.

Death by Political Correctness The consequences of ignoring the obvious.

Is there no situation so grave that it cannot be rendered into farce through the timely recitation of politically correct drivel? Recall Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta’s laughable assertion, put forth even as the rubble of the World Trade Center smoldered, that the flying public and America at large are threatened equally by 75-year-old white women and 25-year-old Arab men. Following in this sorry tradition is Paul Howard, district attorney for Fulton County, Ga.

Facing reporters after Brian Nichols’s homicidal rampage and escape from the Fulton County Courthouse, Howard was asked about the wisdom in having a lone female deputy sheriff escorting a large man accused of a violent sex crime. A sensible question, certainly, what with three people freshly murdered (a fourth soon would follow) and a madman now running loose on the streets of Atlanta. The gathered reporters and anyone watching on television might have anticipated a reasoned, thoughtful response, perhaps to include a call for the reevaluation of the relevant courthouse policies. Alas, no such response was forthcoming.

Ann Coulter weighs in too...
Freeze! I just had my nails done!
How many people have to die before the country stops humoring feminists? Last week, a defendant in a rape case, Brian Nichols, wrested a gun from a female deputy in an Atlanta courthouse and went on a murderous rampage. Liberals have proffered every possible explanation for this breakdown in security except the giant elephant in the room – who undoubtedly has an eating disorder and would appreciate a little support vis-à-vis her negative body image.

Florida Ban Proposed On Electric Shock Guns

State Senators Gary Siplin and Tony Hill want a moratorium on using tasers until it can be proven they're safe. The cost of the study $1.5 million. Hill also wants to ban taser usage on anyone under 18. I say it's a bad idea!

Bill targets low-slung pants wearers

Sen. Gary Siplin, D-Orlando, has filed legislation (SB 2260) that would make it a second-degree misdemeanor to "expose below-waist underwear in a public place."

Those caught flaunting their boxers or thongs above their pants could be facing up to 10 days in jail or a $50 fine.

Is it really the role of the state to institute a dress code? I think not!

Toll idea advances despite opposition

I-4 we've got a problem- too many cars, not enough road. Are tolls the solution?

State officials are calling the concept a highway within a highway. The toll lanes would be called Xpress 400; the state-highway designation for I-4 is State Road 400.

"The way we look at this, we're not tolling the interstate. Tolling the interstate would suggest you're converting existing lanes to toll lanes, and you're tolling all the lanes," said Jim Ely, chief operating officer of Florida's Turnpike Enterprise. "We're not doing that. We're adding new capacity, which is user-financed, and not tax-financed."

The lanes would be open only to people with electronic transponders that can tally tolls by radio signals even at high speeds. Fares would be adjusted frequently to try to encourage or discourage more traffic to get into the toll lanes. For example, when traffic backs up on the toll lanes, the price will go up to discourage more drivers from getting on them.

Rather than solving the problem I see this creating a whole new set of problems. Callers suggested a monorail for locals as part of a workable solution. Also staggering the workforce release at two of our biggest employers Disney & Lockheed Martin. What's your solution?

BURY: Your wife's family and their supporters have been arguing in the most graphic terms that what you are going to allow happen on Friday, in their words, is in effect condemning your wife to a cruel death by starvation.

I'd like you to address that charge from them.

SCHIAVO: That's one of their soapboxes they've been on for a long time.

Terry will not be starved to death. Her nutrition and hydration will be taken away. This happens across this country every day.

Death through removing somebody's nutrition is very painless. That has been brought to the courts many of times. Doctors have come in and testified. It is a very painless procedure.

Terry can't -- she has no cortex left. She doesn't feel pain. She doesn't feel hunger. If she can't feel pain why do they medicate her for menstrual cramps every month?
So what's going to happen is slowly -- her potassium and her electrolytes will slowly diminish and she will drift off to a nice little sleep and eventually pass on to be with God.

Where the heck is the money?

First of all, do you stand to benefit financially in any way from your wife's death?

SCHIAVO: There is no money. I will receive not a penny.

BURY: You did receive something of a malpractice settlement north of $1 million at one point, is that correct?

SCHIAVO: Yes.

FELOS: Well, no.

BURY: And what happened to that?

FELOS: Michael didn't receive those funds. Those were received in Terri's guardianship and it was a bank who was her guardian of the property that administered those funds.

BURY: But the question remains: What happened to those funds?

FELOS: Well, those funds have been used for Terri's medical care and guardianship expenses and costs and fees over many, many years.

Those funds are virtually gone, and Mr. Schiavo is not going to inherit or gain one penny by the result of Terri's death

This one is priceless, for everything else there is MasterCard.

SCHIAVO: In the 15 years? This happening to my wife.

Just because it's happened to Terri doesn't mean I don't still love her. She was a part of my life. She'll always be a part of my life.

And to sit here and be called a murderer and an adulterer by people that don't know me, and a governor stepping into my personal, private life, who doesn't know me either?

Mike you've been shacked up with another woman for close to 10 years. You've sired two kids with her. I don't need to know you, to know that is the text book definition of adultery.

Santorum Vows to Save Terri Schiavo

A top GOP senator is vowing to save a disabled Florida woman from a court-ordered starvation-execution this week, with the new legislation reportedly winning the backing of key leaders in the U.S. Senate.

Commenting on plans to remove Terri Schiavo's feeding tube this Friday, Sen. Rick Santorum told The Hill newspaper on Wednesday, "That's not going to happen on my watch."

Beware The Ides Of March! Et tu Brute?

Roman emperor Julius Caesar was killed on this day, the Ides of March, in 44 B.C., by Brutus, Cassius, and other conspirators. He was 55.

Beware the Ides of March!

Said of a warning or impending misfortune and made popular in William Shakespearse's play Julius Caesar. A soothsayer tells Caesar who is already on his way to the Senate (and his death), "Beware the ides of March." Caesar replies, "He is a dreamer, let us leave him. Pass." The Roman ruler, Julius Caesar, was assassinated on the Ides of March - March 15, 44 B.C.E.

According to Plutarch's account of the story written in 75 A.C.E, the unidentified soothsayer was a Roman astrologer by the name of Spurinna. It was reportedly sometime prior to the fateful day of March 15 that Spurinna had first given Caesar the famous warning to "beware of the Ides of March." The astrologer, Spurinna, had previously warned Caesar that on the Ides of March, he would be in great danger. If, however, Julius Caesar took care on that one day - then all would be well.

According to Plutarch, Caesar had previously made the wise decision to stay within the safety of his bedroom chambers on the 15th of March. However, Caesar's "friend" Decimus (Albinus) Brutus (not Marcus Brutus) managed to convince him that the astrologer's warnings were nothing more than superstitious foolishness. So Julius Caesar decided to attend the Senate on the 15th of March. On his way to the Senate, Caesar "accidentally" met up with the astrologer, Spurinna. Caesar then told the astrologer "The Ides of March are come." Spurinna answered, "Yes, they are come, but they are not past." Later that day - on March 15, 44 B.C.E - Caesar's enemies assassinated him in the Pompey theater, at the foot of Pompey's statue, where the Roman Senate was meeting that day in the temple of Venus.

Et tu Brute
"Thou, too, Brutus!" Julius Caesar's exclamation when he saw that his old friend, Marcus Brutus (85-42 BC), was one of his assassins. "Does my old friend raise his hand against me?"

What Are the Ides?
In the ancient Roman calendar, each of the 12 months had an "ides." In March, May, July and October, the ides fell on the 15th day. In every other month, the ides fell on the 13th. The day always fell eight days after the Nones. The word "ides" was derived from the Latin "to divide." The ides were originally meant to mark the full moon - but since the solar calendar months and lunar months were of different lengths, the ides quickly lost their original intent and purpose.

Human Rights Groups Mum on Schiavo's Torture

Newsmax.com is reporting...

Court-approved plans to starve a brain-damaged Florida woman to death later this month have prompted no outrage from human rights groups - even though, under international law, forced starvation is considered a form of torture.

A Lexis Nexis search on the case of Terri Schiavo, whose starvation-execution will begin when her feeding tube is removed on March 18, failed to turn up a single reference to complaints by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

Operation Patriot Shield starts on Thursday. Zachary Bauer joins me at 7AM Wednesday to talk about it.

Is this the right man to lead Orlando? What say you?

KELLER TO WED AGAIN

Congressman Ric Keller is going down the aisle for the 2nd time. 40 year old Ric is marrying his former congressional aide Danielle "Dee Dee" Michel, 28.

Keller's chief of staff, Bryan Malenius, was quoted in Scott Maxwell's Taking Names Column as saying he was "positive" Keller would not want to answer questions about when the two began dating.

Do the voters have a right to know when this relationship began? Does this make Keller a hypocrite since he campaigned on a Family Values platform in 2000?

Mayoral hopeful Frederick gets push

The Orlando Sentinel is really pushing for Former Orlando Mayor Bill Frederick to temporarily take over until we find out what's going on with Buddy Dyer.

EDITORIAL
Time for stability
With the indictment and suspension last week of their mayor, Orlandoans deserve a modicum of stability.

If they're for it, it must be a bad idea, right?

Live Blogging Radio Interview

Pat Cambell is a friend and supporter of Terri Schiavo. He's also a top talk radio host in Orlando FL (AM540 WFLA). Richard and I joined him this morning and I'm presently fielding questions from callers.

The first caller objected to our support of Terri on the basis of the sanctity of marriage. This despite Michael Schiavo's live-in girlfriend and their two children. I think the sanctity of life comes first.

Lost the second caller. Thanks to the third caller for suggesting that Judge Greer be removed. There has been a push to impeach Greer here and here.

Several callers brought up the apparent conflict of interest and the hidden agenda of the pro-euthanasia crowd.

Another caller first denies Michael has committed adultery and then asserts Michael is a hero and loves his wife. We certainly welcome disagreement because it allows us to correct misconceptions about Terri.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to recommend to listeners that they contact their federal representatives in support of the Incapacitated Persons Act. Also, FL residents can ask Jeb Bush to bring Terri into protective custody during the DCF investigation (Governor Jeb Bush, (850) 488-4441, jeb.bush@myflorida.com).

Finally, FLordia House Bill 701 and Senate Bill 2128 will protect Terri and others in her situation. Follow the links above for a list of phone numbers and contact info.

Terri's execution by starvation and dehydration is scheduled to begin this Friday. Her crime? Being brain damaged on a sunny day. How ironic that her agony and suffering will coincide perfectly with Holy week. Shame on us all if we allow this to happen!

N.Y. Times: Iraq Had WMD 'Stockpiles' in 2003

In a stunning about-face, the New York Times reported Sunday that when the U.S. attacked Iraq in March 2003, Saddam Hussein possessed "stockpiles of monitored chemicals and materials," as well as sophisticated equipment to manufacture nuclear and biological weapons, which was removed to "a neighboring state" before the U.S. could secure the weapons sites.

Illegal aliens threaten U.S. medical system Docs journal reports hospitals being closed, previously vanquished diseases being spread

WND reporting...

In fact, the increasing number of illegal aliens coming into the United States is forcing the closure of hospitals, spreading previously vanquished diseases and threatening to destroy America's prized health-care system, says a report in the spring issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons.

"The influx of illegal aliens has serious hidden medical consequences," writes Madeleine Pelner Cosman, author of the report. "We judge reality primarily by what we see. But what we do not see can be more dangerous, more expensive, and more deadly than what is seen."

According to her study, 84 California hospitals are closing their doors as a direct result of the rising number of illegal aliens and their non-reimbursed tax on the system.

"Anchor babies," the author writes, "born to illegal aliens instantly qualify as citizens for welfare benefits and have caused enormous rises in Medicaid costs and stipends under Supplemental Security Income and Disability Income."

DYER ATTORNEY DYKES EVERITT'S CALL FOR "SPECIAL TEMPORARY ELECTION FOR MAYOR" HAS NO LEGAL BASIS AND WILL BE CHALLENGED IN COURT

The statement of Dyer City Attorney Dykes Everett today calling for a special election to fill a temporary vacancy has no basis in law, according to Mulvaney attorney Fred O'Neal.

"The Orlando City Charter (Sec.1. City Council - fourth paragraph) clearly states, "If the unexpired term exceeds one year and the vacancy should be that of the office of Mayor-Commissioner, the remaining members of the City Council shall within ten (10) days after such vacancy or notice of an upcoming vacancy due to irrevocable resignation call a special municipal election.."

"Mr Dyer has neither irrevocably resigned or provided notice of an irrevocable resignation and therefore the statements of Mr. Everett are to be disregarded," stated attorney O'Neal. "Any attempt by Mr. Everett to schedule a special election for a temporary replacement for Mayor will be challenged in court," concluded O'Neal.

A motion for summary judgment will be heard by Judge Theotis Bronson on Tuesday that will provide for the run-off election between Dyer and Mulvaney. The attempt by Dyer friend and fellow law firm associate, Dykes Everette is a clever attempt to circumvent the City Code and the Florida Statutes and prevent the anticipated loss of Buddy Dyer in a new run-off election against Mayoral challenger Ken Mulvaney.

Ken Mulvaney's attorney Fred O'Neal joins me at 7:30AM ET Monday morning.

Israel plans strike on Iranian nuclear plant

The Sunday Times(UK) is reporting...

ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans for a combined air and ground attack on targets in Iran if diplomacy fails to halt the Iranian nuclear programme.
The inner cabinet of Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister, gave “initial authorisation” for an attack at a private meeting last month on his ranch in the Negev desert.

Condi Rice is Mildly Pro-Choice?

Bill Sammon of THE WASHINGTON TIMES is reporting...

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008, and gave her most detailed explanation of a "mildly pro-choice" stance on abortion.
In an interview with editors and reporters in the office of the editor in chief at The Washington Times, she said she would not want the government "forcing its views" on abortion.
She seemed bemused by speculation that a Rice candidacy could set up an unprecedented all-woman matchup with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, New York Democrat, who is widely expected to seek the presidency.

Miss Rice said abortion should be "as rare a circumstance as possible," although without excessive government intervention. "We should not have the federal government in a position where it is forcing its views on one side or the other.

What exactly does "mildly pro-choice" mean?

Florida Dem Wants Toilet Paper Tax

Florida's Legislature is flush with good ideas. Sen. Al Lawson's involves a two-cent-per-roll tax on toilet paper to pay for wastewater treatment and help small towns upgrade their sewer systems.

The Democratic lawmaker's pay-as-you-go bill has been the source of many jokes - bathroom humor, you might say - but he says the issue is a serious one, especially in some of the fast-growing Panhandle coastal counties in his district.

Report: Gov. Bush To Suspend Orlando Mayor Dyer

Us Against Them- Monday morning 7AM

Monday morning I'll be joined by Zachary Bauer of the Orlando Chapter of ProtestWarrior.com to discuss Operation Castle Storm.

On March 20th, the Orlando Chapter of ProtestWarrior.com will actively engage liberal and anti-American elements in Operation Castle Storm.

Liberal and anti-American elements will be actively demonstrating against the U.S. military on March 20th Sunday, 12:00 noon on the corner of International Drive and Sand Lake Blvd, otherwise known as the heart of Orlando's tourist area with the exception of the Disney and Universal theme park areas. They have chosen this Area of Operations to make the widest impact with visiting tourists.

We also will make an impact.

In a joint operation with Orlando's PW chapter, the Orange County Young Republicans, and the Orlando Freeper network, we will show the liberals of Not-In-Our-Name that they ARE NOT representing the majority of Americans in our country and in the state of Florida.

In the following days, selected members of the Orlando Chapter of PW will be conducting recon missions to assess the area of operations, infiltrate the opposing forces meetings, and begin working with local conservative media contacts to help get the word out about the upcoming operation.

Your responsibility as a Protest Warrior Central Florida Chapter member, is to help us take part in the upcoming mission and show up to express your concern for the views held by 'Not-In-Our-Name'.

Do what you need to do to be available on Sunday March 20th to help take part in this important mission.
More info to follow.

Judge Says DCF Can't Intervene In Terri Schiavo Case

WFTV is reporting...

TAMPA, Fla. -- A judge ruled Thursday that the state's social services agency cannot delay the removal of the feeding tube keeping brain-damaged Terri Schiavo alive.

The Department of Children & Families had asked for a 60-day delay in the removal of the feeding tube, now scheduled March 18. The agency said it wanted time to investigate allegations of abuse and neglect by the woman's husband, Michael Schiavo.

But Circuit Judge George W. Greer ruled that the agency's attempt to get involved at this point was inappropriate and "appears to be brought for the purpose of circumventing the court's final judgment ... in violation of the separation of powers doctrine."

Businessman Offers $1 Million To Keep Terry Schiavo Alive

LOS ANGELES -- A San Diego-area businessman on Thursday offered $1 million to Terri Schiavo's husband in an attempt to keep the brain-damaged Florida woman alive.

Robert Herring said he would pay Michael Schiavo the money if he transfers the legal right to decide his wife's medical treatment to her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, who oppose removing a tube feeding their daughter.

The offer will remain on the table until Monday, Herring said in a statement released by high-profile attorney Gloria Allred.

Anti-Bush Driver Accused Of Road Rage Against Pro-Bush Driver

TAMPA, Fla. -- A Tampa man apparently enraged by a Bush-Cheney sticker on a woman's sport utility vehicle faces felony charges after chasing her for miles, allegedly trying to run her off the road and displaying an anti-Bush sign, police said.

"He told our officers that he just got mad at her, so he went after her," said Tampa police spokesman Joe Durkin.

Ill. Moves Toward Banning Some Video Games

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Gov. Rod Blagojevich's proposal to bar stores from selling violent and sexually explicit video games to children unanimously passed an Illinois House committee Wednesday, despite concerns that it might be unconstitutional.

Under the proposal, which now goes to the House floor, any store that violated the ban could face misdemeanor charges and fines of up to $5,000.

The Bully Game

Immediate News Release 3/10/05

Makers of Grand Theft Auto to Release The Bully Game, Featuring School Kids Beating One Another

A confidential video game industry source has informed Miami attorney and anti-violent video game advocate Jack Thompson that Take-Two Interactive’s Rockstar Games is working on a new violent video game called The Bully Game.

This new title, according to this deep industry source, will pit rival gangs against one another in a virtual reality school where they can mercilessly beat and harm one another, turning virtual schools into cauldrons of chaos.

Given the fact that video games spill virtual violence into reality, this schoolyard violence is not what America’s schools need right about now.

Today Jack Thompson is contacting the Bush Administration’s Department of Education to alert the President.

If the video game industry is allowed, unchecked, to continue to raise our children, then at this pace pretty soon “No Child Left Behind” will morph into “No Child Left Alive.”

President Bush’s oft-repeated mantra that the answer to the entertainment industry’s assault upon our children is that “parents need to be better parents” is an insufficient firewall against the above outrage coming to a school near you.

CONTACT Jack Thompson at jackpeace@comcast.net for additional information.
